Este es el primer meetup organizado por el Google Developer Group Alicante y nos encantaría contar con todos vosotros. !No te lo pierdas!

Todos hemos usado alguna vez el famoso ‘Ok, google’, pero, ¿Hasta donde podemos llevar a los asistentes personales? ¿Que pueden hacer por nosotros en nuestro día a día? ¿Cuál es el pasado, presente y futuro de estos dispositivos?

Además de responder a estas y otras preguntas podremos ver funcionar en directo algunos dispositivos como el Google Home o el Amazon Echo Dot y cómo interactúan con otros aparatos del hogar

Por último veremos como programar nuestros propias funciones con firebase para usarlas desde Google Assistant y como crear nuestro propio Google home con el Google Voice AIY Kit.

Estamos muy emocionados de poder anunciar que el sábado 14 de Abril tendrá lugar el primer evento Women Techmakers llevado a cabo en Alicante! (https://wtmalicante.github.io/)

Women Techmakers (https://www.womentechmakers.com/) es una iniciativa liderada por Google para dar visibilidad a las mujeres en el ámbito de la tecnología. Con motivo del Día Internacional de la Mujer, se promueven diferentes eventos alrededor del mundo con el objetivo de dar a conocer el trabajo y el conocimiento de las mujeres en el sector técnico.

Desde GDG Alicante queremos aportar nuestro granito de arena☝ para promover la tecnología entre las mujeres y jóvenes de nuestra ciudad. Este evento será gratuito y abierto a toda la comunidad y tendrá como protagonista a la tecnología y a las mujeres. ‍

Durante todo el día se organizarán charlas y talleres dirigidos a todos los públicos. Estad atentos porque poco a poco iremos anunciando nuestro ponentes y talleres, así como las sorpresas que estamos preparando ! Y recordad que los chicos también están invitados a asistir al evento!

Charla 2: Kotlin, ¡despegamos!

El nuevo estándar de desarrollo en Android

Daniel Garibaldi es Android developer en Coosto y “Associate Android Developer” certificado por Google. Daniel hará una introducción a Kotlin en la que explicará qué es, cómo funciona y en qué ámbitos es aplicable. Hablará sobre las características principales de Kotlin mediante ejemplos reales extraidos de la nueva app de Coosto desarrollada nativamente en este lenguaje. Los principales puntos a tratar serán:

¡Bienvenidos y bienvenidas a BitUp!

BitUp es un evento relacionado con el ámbito de la informática, más específicamente con el campo de la ciberseguridad. Con BitUp pretendemos ofrecer una jornada muy entretenida e interesante, con una duración aproximada de tres horas, donde disfrutaremos de un total de cinco ponencias de unos treinta minutos cada una, con turno de palabra para preguntas y aportaciones. Habrá un descanso para hacer networking, acompañado de un almuerzo por cortesía de nuestros amigos de Devopensource.

En BitUp aprenderemos muchísimo entre todos , pero queremos dejar claro que simplemente somos un grupo de jóvenes que desea compartir conocimientos sobre ciberseguridad y crear un espacio en Alicante para ello. En próximos eventos de BitUp vamos a intentar traer a expertos de ámbito estatal, que ya van conociendo que en Alicante algo se mueve en ciberseguridad. ¡Contamos contigo!

De nuevo nos queremos volver a reunir para seguir compartiendo diferentes perspectivas sobre datos.

Para este meet up, contaremos con Kevin Fabián Mardinian que nos hablará sobre google console, con Jose que nos contará un proyecto que tiene entre manos, y con Natalia Gavaldá, que nos contará sobre los algoritmos de localización de plantas móvil utilizados en el área de la logistica.

Como siempre, si alguno de los que acudís quiere comentarnos algo sobre sus proyectos, sobre el análisis de datos, R, almacenes de datos, modelos estadísticos u otros temas, podrá hacerlo en el meet up.

Machine learning has allowed computers to think for us, and this has profound implications for the future of artificial intelligence.

More than ever, data scientists need to know how to program machine learning algorithms to allow for efficient data analysis – allowing the computer to “think” faster than a human ever could.

You are invited to our latest Machine Learning Presentation at Coworking12, Calle Segura, 12, 03004 Alicante, where we will be looking in-depth at the different machine learning techniques that data scientists often use, including:

– Introduction to Supervised vs. Unsupervised Learning Techniques

– Clustering Algorithms

– Neural Networks

As well as learning the theory, you will be introduced to examples of how to run such algorithms on actual datasets using the R software.

After the success of the last session and the group’s interest in participating in a Kaggle competition, this session will focus on:

1) coming to a group consensus on a Kaggle competition for the team to enter

2) formulating a project plan based on the chosen competition

These competitions utilise a wide array of skills, with potential prizes for the best competitors – while also greatly enhancing the portfolio and skills of both professionals and newcomers to the data science industry.

To get a general idea of the type of competition that the group would like to enter, I’ve created a sample poll where you can voice your interest. However, the final determination will be made at the meetup on 4th November.

Hi all,

Our next session will be held on Saturday 15th July at 15:00 at Starbucks, El Corte Inglés, Av. Federico Soto, 1, 03003 Alicante.

This session will be a 4-hour session which will recap on the principles of OLS covered in the last session, as well as introduce other forms of regression analysis, including time series based models.

As well as this, this session will be about laying the foundations for a data science project that we would collectively undertake. The consensus so far has been that stock price analysis has been the favoured topic to analyse. So, here is what I envisage (and feel free to contribute your own thoughts as well).

Project: Develop a time series model to predict future movements of Apple stock.

Methodology and Steps:

1. Manually design a stock price database using a language such as mySQL/PostgreSQL, etc. While in the real world, this sort of data would be streamed from an independent database, there are many times where a database needs to be prepared from scratch. (While I’ve done some database creation before, my experience is more in statistics and machine learning, so anyone with specialised database knowledge would be very useful for this part of the project).

2. Using R and Python, develop a time series model (such as ARIMA) which can be used to forecast future values of AAPL. Other models can also be discussed and we may find that we have better ideas once we discuss more.

How we could structure this:

A good way to undertake this project could be to devise three separate teams.

Team 1: Develop the stock price database using mySQL/PostgreSQL, etc.

Team 2: Implement modelling techniques to forecast AAPL stock using R.

Team 3: Implement modelling techniques to forecast AAPL stock using Python.

Again, a lot of this depends on the number of people interested and also the skill sets of each member. But, this is an initial structure and we can discuss it further once we meet.

Also, the teams won’t necessarily work in isolation – we will still compare results and learn from each other.

En la primera parte abordaremos el caso con R, por lo que recomendamos llevarlo instalado.
